Shipping
Based on their volume, weight, and content*, we ship your order via a reliable courier within 24 business hours after payment is received, sending it to the address you provided during the order data registration phase. Herp Italia is not responsible for any delays in order processing or delivery. All shipments, unless otherwise agreed with the Customer, will be carried out using carriers chosen by Herp Italia, and the Shipping Costs will be charged to the Customer as specified in the order. In cases where the carrier is designated by the Customer for any reason, Herp Italia shall not be held liable for any loss and/or damage to the goods after they have been handed over to the carrier.
Shipping insects, live food and other arthropods *
NOTICE: Shipments of insects, frozen goods, and other arthropods are suspended from December 11th until January 7th, 2026, in order to avoid the usual courier delays during this period, which could compromise the arrival of the goods in perfect condition. Customers placing an order containing these items during these dates accept that it will be processed and shipped starting from January 7th, 2026. By contacting us at +393289477984, customers may request a shipment during the above-mentioned period at their own risk (we will not be held responsible for any consequences due to delays). Any refund issued for an order shipped by mistake will be reduced by the commission fees already charged by PayPal or by the bank fees required for refunds issued via bank transfer.
At the moment, we don't ship insects and other artrhropods outside of Italy. If you would like to order them, you can send your own courier to pick the parcels up and everything is at your responsability. For the shipment throughout Italy: given the delicate nature of shipments of live food, insects and other arthropods, it is NECESSARY to provide a shipping address to which there is always someone who can receive the package on the first pass of the courier and who can immediately inspect the contents and arrange them in correct conditions. temperature and humidity. Since these are shipments whose outcome may depend on just a couple of hours of incorrect management, any problems found in the content must be reported to the email [email protected] or to the telephone number +393289477984 within an hour of receiving the package, the delivery time on the courier's tracking will prevail.
We also suggest, in order to avoid problems arising from delivery operations as much as possible, to make use of the DEPOSIT at the offices of the GLS or TNT/Fedex courier and to go personally to collect the shipments on the day of arrival at the office (mandatory because Herp Italia responds to reports of problems in the months of strong heat and cold.)
Otherwise, Herp Italia cannot be held responsible for the guarantee of what was received.
Shipping cost
Shipping and packaging costs are borne by the Customer unless different promotions are specified on the Site. The costs are calculated automatically using software that evaluates the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight of the package, the place of destination, and the type of shipping choice. The costs will be displayed in the Cart, before checking out: the customer, therefore, can decide whether or not to proceed with the order, after having read it.
Collection on site

Delivery to the major trade fairs
As an exhibiting company or as a visitor, we are often present at the major terrarium sector fairs: by sending an e-mail to [email protected] or by calling +393289477984, it is possible to find out at which events we will make free deliveries of the orders received and paid for in advance. The order methods are the same as for "Collect on-site".

Generally, the express couriers used by Herp Italia deliver within 24 hours from the date of shipment throughout Italy, 48/72 hours in the italian Islands and disadvantaged areas, 4-10 working days for deliveries throughout Europe. However, deliveries may be subject to variations due to particular traffic and road conditions in general, due to unavailability of the goods as well as by action of the Authorities; any delivery delays cannot be attributed or attributable to Herp Italia.
There are 2 delivery attempts, after which the package can be collected by the Customer at the courier's office. The goods will be stored for a maximum of 5 days at the headquarters of the courier used, after which the packages will be returned to Herp Italia with consequent cancellation of the order and charging of the outward, return, and storage shipping costs to the Customer.
It is possible to request that the goods be delivered to the courier's headquarters in "Depot Hold": in this case, the Customer must collect the goods within 4 days of the arrival date. Once these have been exceeded, the packages will be returned to Herp Italia with consequent cancellation of the order and charging of the outward and return shipping costs and storage costs to the Customer, plus a supplement of €10.00 for hold storage.
Responsibility
The goods travel exclusively at the Customer’s risk. It is absolutely essential that the person receiving the parcel signs the carrier’s delivery note, writing “Subject to inspection” (“Riserva di controllo”) in the signature field regardless of the external condition of the packaging; only in this case will it be possible to request replacement of any damaged goods. Herp Italia will not accept any claim if the delivery is not accepted in the manner indicated above. To report the arrival of damaged goods, the Customer must, within 4 days of receiving the shipment, send an email to [email protected] specifying their full name, tax ID, order number, and attaching photos of the outer packaging, the inner packaging, and the damaged goods.
