Live adult lateralis cockroaches, Shelfordella lateralis, suitable for:

The cockroach lateralis is highly appreciated as a live food due to its high nutritional value and ease of reproduction. Shelfordella lateralis are medium-sized cockroaches, they are resistant and relatively simple to maintain, they reach 3.5 cm and are red and dark orange in colour.
To keep them healthy they should be kept at a temperature between 24-35° C and with low humidity.
It is very important to remember that: "The better the feeder insects are fed, the more complete the nutrition of your exotic animals will be".
Once received, let them acclimatise and prepare a large, high and well-ventilated tank for them, insert if you can several egg cartons or a tangle of twigs to allow them to crawl and hide;
All you need to do is provide him with potatoes, carrots and oranges (they are foods that tend to dry out and do not create harmful mold or excessive humidity) to ensure a correct water intake (together with aquagel if you prefer) while for the protein intake you can use insect food for meals, kibbles for dogs or cats and also fish food in flakes.
It is strongly recommended to cover the tank with a lid equipped with a metal ventilation grill as these cockroaches are experts in escapes.
However, the use of a substrate to speed up cleaning is not recommended.
They are particularly fast insects, suitable for animals with adequate reflexes.
