Rubber tree leaves, Hevea brasiliensis.
Drying greatly reduces active latex and part of the cyanogenic glycosides, allowing the leaves to be used for soil enrichment in detritivorous insect breeding.
In natural environments or bioactive terrariums, dried Hevea leaves can be colonized by fungi and bacteria and become an indirect food source for detritivorous insects such as isopods, springtails, and saprophagous larvae.
They are not particularly nutritious, but they are ideal as enrichment when mixed with more common leaves such as oak or beech.
