Reptile Systems D3 Basking Lamps are mercury vapor lamps and are safe to use with your exotic animals, hang them vertically in your terrarium to allow convection currents to circulate normally.
As with all mercury vapor lamps, these lamps are not thermostat compatible and should only be used in large terrariums.

These lamps are usually cheaper to purchase and run than using a separate UV and spot/heat source. With its standard E27 socket, it is compatible with almost all ceramic lamp holders.
