A sufficient supply of the growing animals with calcium and phosphorus is particularly important for the development of a strong skeleton and for female breeding animals to form eggshells.

In addition, a calcium deficiency is often suspected to be the cause of egg failure. This can primarily occur due to insufficient calcium supply, often combined with an unfavorable calcium-phosphorus ratio.
