Ficus benjamin is an ornamental plant much appreciated for its elegant shape and glossy foliage. Native to the tropical regions of Asia and Australia, in nature it can reach considerable heights, but in the home environment it is generally contained thanks to regular pruning and limited space.

The plant can almost always present small imperfections on the leaves, even when fresh from our producers' warehouses. This could also happen to the leaves that the plant will generate in the future.

Characteristics:
- The trunk has a bark that, over time, changes from gray to brown, and the branches are arranged in a harmonious and slightly arched way.
- The leaves, oval and hanging, are shiny and an intense green; in some cultivars they can also appear variegated shades.
- In ideal conditions the plant develops a dense and well-formed crown, helping to create a welcoming internal environment.

Cultivation:
- Ficus benjamina prefers bright environments with indirect light; too intense exposure to direct sunlight could burn the leaves.
- It grows best in well-drained soil, enriched with organic matter, which avoids water stagnation that is potentially harmful to the roots.
- Irrigation must be regular: it is advisable to water when the soil is dry to the touch, without overdoing it to avoid rotting.
- The ideal temperature for growth is between 18 and 26°C; It is important to avoid cold drafts and sudden changes in temperature, since the ficus benjamina is sensitive to low temperatures.
- During the growing season, it is useful to fertilize the plant with a balanced fertilizer every month to encourage its development.

Dangerousness for animals and humans:
- Ficus benjamina produces a latex that can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
- If ingested, the latex and plant tissues can cause gastrointestinal disorders in both pets and people.
- It is important to keep it out of the reach of children and animals, to avoid any accidents in case of ingestion or direct contact with the irritating sap. Use in terrariums with herbivorous or omnivorous animals is not recommended.
