By combining them with other natural decor options, you can create a replica of nature in your terrariums!
In high humidity conditions, or if immersed in water for a long period of time, the leaves will tend to degrade, providing food for the animals in your bioactive terrarium. They can also be soaked and mulched for a millipede diet.

These leaves are suitable for creating humid microclimates within the terrarium, trapping moisture near the substrate and encouraging the proliferation of animals such as isopods, springtails and other small creatures that inhabit the undergrowth.
Ideal for tropical and temperate species of frogs, geckos, small snakes and lizards, as well as for invertebrates, the leaf litter provides your animals with a natural visual barrier and offers hiding places. It also adds nutrients to the substrate essential for a bioactive terrarium in which your plants will proliferate.
You can also use them in an aquarium!
They can be used in a natural aquarium to help provide beneficial nutrients and regulate pH levels. Perfect for shrimp, Betta fish, Discus, South American Cichlids and other fish.
The leaves provide shelter for fry and small species of shrimp, crabs, prawns, snails and other fish, while maintaining a natural appearance in the aquarium.
They also act as an ideal growth medium for biofilms and diatoms, both of which are key food sources for countless species of aquatic animals.
As they break down, they release tannins that slowly lower the pH of the aquarium, making the water more acidic and low in pH.
They have valuable therapeutic properties for fish and can often act as a natural preventative medicine in the aquarium. They are highly antibacterial and antifungal and promote or increase the production of mucus, scales and shells in fish and invertebrates.
This is especially important when introducing and acclimating animals to the aquarium and after water changes. Mango leaves also enrich the aquarium water with organic compounds that are beneficial to fish that live in still and stagnant water, such as betta fish.
